Requirements Development and Vendor
selection
Document detailed functional, technical, workflow and business
requirements for new systems. After documentation of those requirements,
we convert the requirements into hardware, software and communications
requirements and specifications. This process is completed through
user interviews, legacy systems review, knowledge of market offerings
and "best practices".
The documentation of these requirements is the foundation for communicating
with vendors and will become an attachment to the final vendor contract.
Once we have the documentation complete we Prepare and distribute
of the Request for Information (RFI) and subsequent Request for
Proposal (RFP) to the potential vendor list identified in the project
planning phase.
We participate in the evaluation of vendor responses to the RFP/RFI
and work with the project team to select vendors to participate
in the prototype and demonstration process.
Assist with the coordination of vendor prototype development and
scripted demonstrations. Assist with the evaluation of the demonstrations.
Conduct vendor reference checks and site visits.
At the completion of this phase the organization will have selected
two or more vendor finalists that will meet the majority of the
requirements.
